When Music Bleeds Into… (Part 1)

…the thoughts of my past relationship, this is the result. See if you can guess the songs I used by commenting below!

An archived work from FruitTartz.

“I’ll see you in the future when we’re older, and we are full of stories to be told. Cross my heart and hope to die; I’ll see you with your laughter lines.”

These are the words I want to say to my ex-girlfriend. I want to see her when she’s happier in life, and I want to hear all about how her life has improved since I came along and interfered with it.

“No, I can’t take one more step towards you, ’cause all that’s waiting is regret. And don’t you know I’m not your ghost anymore? You lost the love I loved the most.”

I hear these words echo through my mind even though she never said them to me. Her eyes the last time we met said more than what she dared to say.

“My heart just sank the moment I saw you. You’re an image of a girl that I used to know. And don’t be alarmed if this seems hard for me to explain, ’cause every detail of your face makes me recall the name.”

This is what plays in my mind if I ever see a Caucasian girl holding hands with a guy. It brings back the guilt of being a terrible boyfriend.

“He can take you any place he wants…to fancy clubs and restaurants. But I can only watch you with my nose pressed up against the windowpane.”

I feel that my lack of wealth, and hardly spending any long amount of time with her out of high school, contributed to our falling-out.

“Thanks for the memories, even though they weren’t so great. He tastes like you, only sweeter.”

I imagine she will turn out to be less lovely, compared to what she used to be, because of what I did. I feel like all I’ve done is just corrupt a perfectly good angel.

“We were born to be together…torn apart…torn apart”

The words I keep saying to myself, in order for me to move on.

“You abandoned me…love don’t live here anymore. Just a vacancy…love don’t live here anymore.”

Did you get all of the songs I mentioned? If you did, comment below on your guesses! If you want hints, the most frequently appearing artist on that page is Bastille, the British band who made Pompeii (from the Mr Peabody and Sherman movie’s end credits). There are some older songs thrown in there too, so good luck!
